How to setup Carquest on PartsTech
How to set up Carquest on PartsTech:
Step 1: Gather your Carquest account information:
To set up Carquest on PartsTech, you’ll need a few pieces of information. To set up your account, you’ll need one of the following:
Either (1) your customer number -or- (2) your “SMS ID” and “SMS Password.”
Is there any difference between using customer number vs. “SMS ID“ and “SMS Password“?
The only difference is how long it takes to set up your account. If you have your SMS ID and SMS Password available, you can set up your Carquest account immediately. However, not all repair shops know how to find their SMS ID and SMS Password, so we allow you to input your customer number instead. Your customer number is readily available and easy to find on any recent invoice (see below), but it will take a couple of days to process your account after you enter it on PartsTech.
In summary, SMS ID and SMS Password allows you to start using Carquest on PartsTech immediately, but sometimes this information is harder to find. As an alternative, your customer number is easy to find but comes with longer set up time.
How to find your Carquest customer number.
Your 10 digit customer number (sometimes referred to as an Account ID) can be found on any recent Carquest / Advance Auto Parts invoice on the top left hand side, in the box with the name of your shop. See the image below.
How to find your SMS ID and SMS Password
Your SMS ID and SMS Password may be more difficult to find unless you’ve already used it to set up online ordering in your shop management system. If you can not find your credentials, you have a couple options: You can request your SMS ID by calling Carquest / Advance Auto Parts commercial customer support at 877-280-5965 or send an email to Advance Auto Parts using this template. Be sure to let them know that you need your SMS / online ordering credentials so you can set up Carquest on PartsTech.
If you get stuck, you can use your customer number as described above.
Step 2: Enter your Customer Number (or SMS ID) on PartsTech
To enter your Carquest account information on PartsTech, return to the Supplier Setup screen. Click the blue pencil icon to edit your local Carquest Store.
Then enter your credentials in the appropriate fields.
If you are using your customer number to configure your account, please enter your customer number in the field labeled “SMS ID or Customer Number.” Since you do not have your SMS Password, you can leave the SMS Password field blank for now.
If you are using your SMS ID and SMS Password, please enter them in the appropriate fields.
Once you’ve entered your information, click “Save.”
Step 3: Complete the set up or registration process and check your account status.
If you’re setting up a new account on PartsTech for the first time, please be sure to complete the registration process and confirm your email. Also, don’t forget to set up your other preferred parts suppliers.
Next time you log on to PartsTech, you will be able to see the status of your Carquest account in your Supplier Settings (pictured below). Look for the green “Account Verified” message. That means your Carquest account on PartsTech is set up and ready to go.
If you used your SMS ID and SMS Password in the set up process, you will be able to check your account status immediately. If you used your customer number, it will take a few days and we will notify you when your account is ready.
